pattern: A pattern is a line, shape or color the repeats over and over again to create a design. THINK and DO Think: Take a minute to practice mindfulness. Close ore rest your eyes and ask yourself these questions:
What are you feeling grateful for today? Who are you feeling grateful for?
There are no wrong answers to these questions. We may feel gratitude or grateful for different things on different days.
Make Art:
Step #1: Take a minute to journal a list of all the things you are feeling grateful for.
Your journal may take the form of a list or of a thinking map - it's up to you!
Step #2: Use a marker. Draw the contour line of your hand or of a heart.
Step #3: Place your journal next to your drawing. Write the words or phrases from your journal inside the contour of the hand or the heart.
Step #4: Continue working until the hand or the heart is full of the words that communicate what you are grateful for.
What are some different ways you can communicate using different types of letters? You might try writing in different styles, sizes, and directions.
Step #5: Draw patterns and/or symbols in the space surrounding the hand or heart.
Symbols and patterns may be used to communicate more information about what you feel gratitude for or an overall feeling. You may choose to relax while drawing patterns as you spend time feeling grateful.
You may add color if you like!
